Two centuries without an empire

A People Beneath Lesser Banners

After the Sixth Imperium fell, no realm upon the Einheart Plateau dared call itself Varian. The old glory became a memory, and beyond the plateau the world mocked the scattered people who still carried its name.

From the opposition benches of the Rhinehold rose Aldon Morvaak. He spoke of unity, vengeance and the restoration of a people divided beneath kingdoms, republics and city-states.

The final session

The Rhinehold Burns

When the opposition failed to arrive, the remaining senators attempted to leave. The doors were barred, and every rival of Morvaak burned inside the Rhinehold.

Morvaak denied responsibility. He blamed foreign espionage, demanded order and named himself High Senator. The next year he became Emperor, founding the Fourth Varian Empire—the Seventh Imperium to rise from Einheart.

Iron for war · Bone for power

The Sangraals Descend

As borders shifted and the legions swelled, the Sangraals came south without banners or drums. Kraal knelt before the Emperor in Einheart’s great hall while masked Inquisitors stood behind him, silent and unblinking.

The pact placed Inquisitors beside imperial governors as wardens, not guests. Kraal became Inquisitor to Crown Prince Lexen Morvaak—his shadow, advisor and keeper of Sangraal law at court. The Sangraals asked for no conversion. Their language was blood, their order hierarchy and their purpose the runes.

The Seventh Imperium

The Varian Name Restored

War followed beneath the language of unity. For a decade the plateau bent the knee, and the Varian name returned behind ranks of steel, oath and shadow.

Within those campaigns, Lexen Morvaak rose from imperial heir to commander. He trusted Kraal’s colder counsel more than that of any general, believing victory demanded a wisdom beyond war alone.
