Matthias Morvaak

Matthias Morvaak is the younger son of Emperor Aldon and brother to Crown Prince Lexen. Born into the dynasty at the heart of the Seventh Imperium, he has spent his life beneath the weight of a name that demands obedience before it allows doubt.

Unlike Lexen, Matthias does not mistake cruelty for strength. He believes Varia can endure without becoming the terror its enemies describe, and that an imperial prince owes protection to ordinary people as surely as loyalty to the throne.

That conviction leaves him in a dangerous place: close enough to power to witness what is done in his family’s name, yet bound by blood to the brother whose wars define the age. Matthias is not an enemy of the Imperium, but neither is he willing to surrender his conscience to it.
