Legatus Kael

Legatus Kael commands the 11th Varian Legion, the spearhead of the Ninth Grand Army. A veteran of the Imperial campaigns, he led the advance through the Eternal Forests of Lorae’ln, where roads shifted, supply lines vanished and the forest itself resisted occupation. Kael kept the legion moving through discipline, attrition and absolute loyalty to the chain of command.

His younger brother Erik’s defection to Azreal turned faithful service into a sentence without end. In Einheart, every victory is weighed against his blood, and every failure threatens to confirm the suspicion that treason runs through House Kael. Legatus Kael answered by binding himself more tightly to the Empire.

He is the brother who stayed—the commander who carries both the honour of the 11th and the shame of a family divided by war. Where Erik chose conscience over empire, Kael chose duty, even as that duty placed the brothers on opposing sides of the battlefield.

“An army survives because one man holds when another breaks.”
