Chancellor Marlowe

Chancellor Marlowe leads Zehlor through persuasion, patience and a precise understanding of what each western realm fears losing. His long service has taught him that alliances rarely fail from a lack of common enemies; they fail when old grievances are allowed to speak louder.

He walks beside Cedric Blackthorne as counsellor and counterpart, willing to support Avalos when the western kingdoms face a shared danger but equally willing to challenge decisions that place Zehlor beneath another realm’s command.

Marlowe’s measured manner hides a formidable political instinct. He knows when to delay a vote, when to force a promise into writing and when silence will make an opponent reveal more than argument ever could.

“A treaty is only a battlefield where the wise arrive armed with words.”
